BA-440 Maximum Endurance Output Board
Our all-new BA-440 Maximum Endurance Output Board incorporates six Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) components across the dry-contact relay and Wiegand communications circuitry. These components provide an additional layer of surge protection for readers operating in both Wiegand communication lines and stand-alone mode relays.
Compared with our previous model, the BA-440 Maximum Endurance Output Board simplifies the circuit architecture by eliminating opto-isolation functionality and secondary Wiegand verification elements. Removing these secondary features reduces overall circuit complexity and eliminates potential surge-damage pathways associated with them.
The BA-440 Maximum Endurance Output Board is specifically designed to rapidly clamp overvoltage events and shunt the resulting surge current to ground before damaging downstream components. Its architecture directs susceptible circuit paths through strategically protected points reinforced with additional TVS components and higher-rated metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs). This new design provides a significantly more robust and direct path for transient suppression while reducing risks of surge energy to critical components.

Field Reliability & Lightning Test Summary
In empirical testing, the BA-440 Maximum Endurance Output Board was subjected to 500,000-volt electrical strikes a dozen times without suffering operational or structural damage.
In real-world application, this provides protection against ground-voltage spikes caused by nearby lightning strikes (e.g., 20 feet away) without blowing the output board or damaging the connected reader.
