Your Vehicle Becomes Your Key
Imagine approaching your community gate and simply driving through.
No stopping. No reaching for a key fob. No rolling down the window.
That's how BAi works.
Barcode Automation, Inc. (BAi) provides long-range Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) using two simple components: a small barcode decal attached to your vehicle and a BAi Reader installed at the gate.
As you approach, the reader uses a focused laser to locate and decode the barcode on your vehicle's BAi decal. If your vehicle is authorized, the gate opens automatically.
You keep driving. The system does the work.
It's Simple: A Decal and a Reader
Your BAi Vehicle Decal
Each authorized vehicle receives a small, weather-resistant BAi barcode decal.
The decal contains a unique identification number assigned to that vehicle and is placed on the side window or headlight where the BAi Reader can see it as you approach the gate.
- Small & Unobtrusive: Fits seamlessly onto vehicle glass or headlights.
- Weather Resistant: Operates reliably in extreme temperatures, heavy rain, and direct sun.
- Customizable: Available in 23 distinct color combinations to match community standards.
- Tamper-Proof Security: Designed to fracture if removed to prevent unauthorized transfer or cloning.
The BAi Reader
The BAi Reader is installed at the entrance or exit lane.
As your vehicle approaches, the reader's DualBeam laser scans the barcode on your decal. It identifies authorized vehicles traveling at speeds of up to 25 mph and decodes the vehicle's identification in less than a second with 100% accuracy.
If the vehicle is authorized, the reader signals the gate operator to open.
What Happens When You Drive Through the Gate?
-
You approach the gate.
Drive normally. There is no need to stop, present a credential, or roll down your window. -
BAi reads your decal.
The reader automatically identifies your vehicle as you approach using active laser scanning. -
Your vehicle is checked.
The reader sends the decal ID to your access control system. BAi also offers Stand-Alone Mode, which allows the reader to control the gate operator directly without an external panel. -
The gate opens.
If your vehicle is authorized, the gate opens automatically and you continue through.
No button. No card reader. No window down. Just drive.
