The BA-440 DualBeam Barcode Reader represents the most modern, state-of-the-art device for Vehicle Access Control and AVI (Automatic Vehicle Identification) systems. Combining advanced laser technology with the proven DualBeam design pioneered by Barcode Automation, the BA-440 Barcode Reader offers the best performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness available. The unit is immune to interference or glare from the Sun as well as radio frequency interference from cell phones, radio antennas, power lines and microwave towers.
The primary purpose of the BA-440 DualBeam Barcode Reader is to read barcode decals on vehicles. Our standard decals will be reliably read at speeds up to 25 mph and distances up to 6 feet from the reader. Decal data is transmitted via RS232 serial port, USB connection (compatible with a computer) and a standard 26 bit Wiegand port (compatible with other access control equipment).
The BA-440 DualBeam Barcode Reader features include modular construction, quick disconnects, and built-in tools for fast and easy servicing. Diagnostics are easily accessed using a laptop with either a RS232 serial port or USB port. Housed in a durable aluminum enclosure, the BA-440 DualBeam Barcode Reader operates around the clock, easing the workload of gatekeepers and security personnel. The only regular maintenance requirement is to clean the optics and interior twice per year.

Laser Safety Considerations
The BA-440 DualBeam Barcode Reader is a Class II laser product, which means that it emits less than 1mw of laser power when operating. Class II laser devices cannot cause eye damage unless viewed directly for an extended period of time or with magnifiers, binoculars, or telescopes. Intentional extended staring at the laser light can be hazardous and may cause injury to the eyes.
